Master: (I)Communication and Information System

The master subject of communication and information system has 6 professors and 3 associate professors, concentrating on the theory research and implementation technique in mobile communication and radio technique, signal processing, optical fiber communication network, computer network. The completed projects include 8 National Natural Science Foundation and national 863 projects, more than 10 provincial science and technique projects and natural science foundation projects. Up to now, more than 10 completed projects achieve the science and technology progress award in ministry level and the distinctive innovation in theory and technology development have been successfully of practical application while yielding better economic and social utility.

Introduction to the research domain:
(I)Mobile communication and wireless technique
OFDM, multiple antennas, multiple access technique, cognitive radio and channel equalization in B3G mobile communication system; Access technique, resource reuse and data scheduling algorithm in WLAN and WIMAX; Data fusion, optimization for node power consumption and routing algorithm in WSN; Multiple hop and cooperation communication; Network coding, resource sharing and the integration of heterogeneous networks in open network system. Currently, some projects are being undertaken including National Natural Science Foundation, provincial science and technique projects and natural science foundation and Shanghai Baiyulan foundation.

(II)Signal processing technique
Fundamental method and practical algorithm for the information extracted from signal to improve the reliability and effectiveness in signal transmission and storage; Multiple data packet receiving and medium access control based on blind signal processing; Objective tracking and information fusion based on particle filtering; Network parameter prediction; Topology analysis; Traffic control; Cross layer design; Multimedia communication and multidimensional signal processing. Currently, many projects are being undertaken by the provincial and municipal science and technology plan and the cooperation between enterprise and institutions.

(III)Optical fiber communication network
Optical internet technique; Optical switching technique; Optical fiber access mode; Integration of wired and wireless networks. At the present time, some projects are being undertaken by the natural science foundation supported by Jiangsu province, Zhenjiang science and technology plan as well as the cooperation between enterprise and institutions. Up to now, more than 30 academic papers have been published including 10 papers indexed by SCI and more than 20 papers indexed by EI.

(IV)Computer network
Theory and technique on computer network, specially focusing on the theory and technique of next generation network breaking through the traditional network, including QoS technique, intelligent network management, wireless wideband access, self-organization network, the integration of heterogeneous networks and the latest development in Internet of Things and Ubiquitous network. The projects being currently undertaken include national 863 projects, Zhenjiang science and technology plan, university natural science foundation from Jiangsu province and the cooperation projects between enterprise and institutions.
