On the afternoon of June 14, 2023, Professor Chen Chunyang, a lifelong senior lecturer at the School of Information Technology at Monash University in Australia, was invited by our institution to give an academic presentation. The presentation was presided over by Vice Dean Chen Jinfu, and more than 100 teachers and students from related fields attended the presentation.
Prof. Chen Chunyang gave a research report titled "Visual Testing for Data Driven Mobile Applications" and shared the latest achievements. The report focuses on the development history of GUI testing tools and the current challenges they face, such as low coverage, high overhead, and lack of App availability and accessibility. Teacher Chen Chunyang introduced his research work on improving GUI testing coverage and efficiency, as well as utilizing data-driven methods and computer vision algorithms to achieve automated visual fault reproduction. He also shared research progress on enhancing the usability and accessibility of application GUI through visual information enhancement. In addition, Teacher Chen Chunyang introduced a set of corresponding tools developed by his team for automated GUI testing.

The introduction of these technologies and theories is of great significance to professionals in the field of software engineering. This report aims to provide attendees with the latest insights and knowledge on visual testing technology for mobile applications and next-generation software engineering. Through this report, attendees will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the latest developments in visual testing technology for mobile applications and gain a comprehensive understanding of the new generation of software engineering.
