On January 12th, the seminar on the construction of Jiangsu Province's computer science top student training base and innovative talent training plan was held in Room 221 of the School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering. The seminar aimed to deeply implement the requirements of the provincial party committee's talent work conference, give full play to the leading role of computer science and technology advantages in characteristic disciplines, and further improve the training system for computer science top innovative talents. Principal Yan Xiaohong and Vice Principal Tian Lixin attended the seminar and provided guidance.

Mao Qirong, Dean of the School of Computer Science, gave a detailed report on the construction of Jiangsu Province's Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) Top Student Training Base and the cultivation of innovative talents from the aspects of construction foundation, target positioning, construction measures, guarantee measures, training characteristics, and construction needs.

As the director of the Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) Top Student Training Base, Yan Xiaohong emphasized the importance of cultivating top-notch talents and pointed out that the college should be driven by education system reform and teaching mechanism innovation, follow the growth laws of top-notch innovative talents, identify the positioning of talent training, fully leverage the advantages of disciplines and majors, strengthen the integration of science and education, deepen international cooperation, innovate education models, and refine elite and personalized talent training programs, Optimize the path of cultivating top-notch innovative talents and comprehensively build a four level system for cultivating top-notch innovative talents at the national, provincial, university, and college levels. He requested to further refine the characteristics of the top student training base, focus on output, and cultivate students' innovation ability, learning ability, scientific literacy, and humanistic literacy.

Tian Lixin pointed out that the college should further study and understand the spirit of the documents, and develop a training plan for top students in computer science (artificial intelligence) based on the characteristics of the school and major. He expressed that the school should make every effort to build the first provincial-level top student training base on campus, providing strong support for building high-level universities and improving first-class undergraduate education.
