In order to further optimize and improve the undergraduate training program, comprehensively deepen the reform of undergraduate education and teaching, and strive to enhance the quality of undergraduate talent cultivation, the School of Computer Science held an expert argumentation meeting for the 2024 undergraduate training program on July 9, 2024, through both online and offline platforms. Renowned national teaching experts including Jiang Zongli, Professor at Beijing University of Technology and Vice Chairman of the Education Ministry's Computer Science Teaching Guidance Committee; Liu Yong, Principal Investigator of a Key Project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Zhou Yong, Professor at China University of Mining and Technology; Huang He, a Young Changjiang Scholar supported by the Ministry of Education and Professor at Soochow University; Zhang Linghua, Member of the Education Ministry's Electronics and Information Teaching Guidance Committee and Professor at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Guo Weijie, Vice Chairman of CCF Hangzhou and Director of Alibaba's University Cooperation Department; Yan Xiaohong, former President of Jiangsu University; and Zou Xiaobo, Vice President of Jiangsu University, were invited to attend the meeting to provide insights and guidance for the undergraduate training program of the school.
The heads of each major presented reports on the distinctive features and key reform points of their respective training programs, the credit system and main framework, and the normative analysis of course settings. The participating experts listened carefully to the reports, thoroughly reviewed the relevant materials, and provided valuable suggestions and recommendations for improvement from various aspects, including whether the training objectives and graduation requirements are clearly defined, whether the courses align with the graduation requirements, whether the training mode, curriculum system, and research practice training are reasonably designed, and whether the teaching reform concepts are advanced.
The successful hosting of this expert argumentation meeting has provided important guidance for further refining the undergraduate training program of our school and laid a solid foundation for future reforms and innovations in education and teaching.
