How do computers truly "talk" to the world? On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, international students and faculty at Jiangsu University got a fascinating look during a special open class!

Held in Room 105, Building 1 on the Jingjiang Campus, the College of Computer Science and Communication Engineering showcased its high-quality English-taught course, Assembly Language and Microcomputer Interface, as part of its ongoing commitment to global teaching excellence. The session was led by Associate Professor Zeng Lanling and drew a keen audience of international undergraduates and young faculty observers.

Focusing on the classic Intel 8255 programmable parallel interface chip, Professor Zeng conducted the entire class in fluent English. She began with a clear review to solidify foundational concepts before diving deep into the chip's architecture, three operating modes, and practical programming applications. By combining interactive questioning with real-world cases—like controlling LED displays or reading switch inputs—she transformed abstract hardware instructions into vivid examples, making the communication principles between CPU and peripherals both accessible and engaging.
