On the morning of April 21, 2025, an open class for the English-taught undergraduate course Fundamentals of Programming was held in Classroom 115, Building 1 on Jiangjiang Campus, as part of Jiangsu University’s initiative to promote high-quality English-medium instruction for international students. The session was designed for international undergraduates majoring in Computer Science and Technology, delivered by Associate Professor Zheng Wenyi from the College of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, with several young faculty members in attendance.

The class focused on loop control statements—break and continue. Professor Zheng began by reviewing previous content, then introduced the break statement, followed by a systematic explanation of both statements using flowcharts, algorithmic descriptions, and live coding examples. Through relatable program demonstrations, she guided students to understand how these statements alter loop execution. The session concluded with hands-on coding exercises, allowing students to immediately apply what they had learned.

This open class not only demonstrated effective bilingual teaching strategies for technical subjects but also provided a valuable opportunity for faculty observation and exchange. The college remains committed to enhancing the quality of English-taught programs for international students, supporting instructional innovation, and continuously improving the global learning experience.
