On February 27, Wang Jingquan, Member of the University Party Standing Committee and Vice President, visited the College of Computer Science and Communication Engineering to conduct a thematic research session on talent and human resources development. He was accompanied by Wang Fei, Director of the Personnel Office, and Huang Ting, Director of the Talent Office. The meeting was attended by the college leadership, department heads, and academic discipline leaders, and chaired by Sun Guo, Secretary of the College Party Committee.

During the meeting, Dean Mao Qirong presented a comprehensive overview of the college’s faculty development, covering aspects such as age and professional title structure, student-faculty ratios, recruitment and cultivation of talent, research engagement, postdoctoral program development, and international recruitment efforts. She also analyzed existing shortcomings, outlined the college’s talent development priorities and progress for 2025, and articulated current needs and expectations for future growth. Other participants supplemented the report with further insights.

Vice President Wang Jingquan listened attentively to the presentations and fully acknowledged the achievements made by the college leadership and faculty in advancing academic and professional development. He noted that the college demonstrates clear direction, well-defined objectives, substantive initiatives, and effective measures. He also provided guidance on challenges related to faculty structure optimization and talent recruitment and retention. Wang emphasized the need to consistently uphold a talent-driven development philosophy, further optimize the faculty structure, strengthen the reserve of high-level talent, broaden strategic approaches, focus on overcoming key weaknesses, and continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of talent-related work, thereby providing solid support for talent cultivation and discipline development.
