2024 Computer Culture Festival
 

On October 20, 2024, the fifth Computer Culture Festival of Jiangsu University, themed "Connecting the World with Computing, Empowering the Future with Intelligence," officially opened. Ren Xudong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, Ren Zezhong, Director of the Student Affairs Department of Jiangsu University, Zhang Yongqiang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Jiangsu University and Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department, Wu Liping, Secretary of the Party Branch of Wenxin College, and Jiang Yonghua, Secretary of the Party Branch of Qiuzhi College, attended the event. Leaders of the School of Computer Science and Technology as well as all faculty and students participated in the activities.


At the opening ceremony, a drone formation demonstrated various patterns in the sky, showcasing the technological prowess of the school and the talent of its faculty and students. Additionally, the unveiling ceremony for the Kingsoft Office Skills Certification (KOS) and the recognition of "Computer Stars" and excellent teachers in cultivating innovative talents further inspired students' enthusiasm for learning and innovation. The Career Carnival series of events, organized into five sections: motivation spark, career exploration, self-discovery, skill enhancement, and dream pursuit, provided comprehensive career planning guidance for students. The exhibition of outstanding computer science students' achievements, featuring experience sharing on postgraduate recommendation, employment, and graduate school entrance exams, attracted the attention of many junior students, offering them valuable learning resources. The AI interactive experience zone allowed students to get up close and personal with precision equipment like robotic arms, and participate in interactive games such as "handshakes" and "rock, paper, scissors" with the robotic arms. They also watched demonstrations of line-following robots, experiencing the infinite charm of technology. Furthermore, activities such as the display of works from the Youth Information Literacy Competition, interactive wireless image transmission and programming-controlled racing cars, and Mixed Reality (MR) technology experiences were warmly welcomed and actively participated in by students. These activities not only enriched students' technological experiences but also ignited their passion for technological innovation.
