On the morning of October 19th, the campus of Jiangsu University buzzed with excitement as swinging robotic arms, line-tracking smart cars, and precise robot formations became the weekend's hottest attractions. For freshmen at the School of Computer Science, their entry into university life was marked by an enlightening fusion of technology and culture.

The opening ceremony of the 6th Jiangsu University Computer Culture Festival, doubling as the welcome ceremony for the Class of 2025, was held at the university auditorium. Under the theme "Wisdom Converges at JSU, Digital Innovation Creates the Future – Nurturing New Talent, Embarking on a New Journey", the event served as a direct bridge between students and leadership. Mr. Zhang Yongqiang, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, and Professor Mao Qirong, Dean of the School of Computer Science, engaged in a face-to-face dialogue with the new students. Dean Mao provided a comprehensive overview of the school's research progress and disciplinary development, highlighting frontier advancements in artificial intelligence, intelligent computing, network and system security, and the Internet of Things.
The heart of the festival beat strongest at the "Tech Experience Zone". Gasps of amazement and exclamations of delight filled the air as students got hands-on with cutting-edge technology. "I just programmed the code under my senior's guidance, and seeing the robot wiggle cutely was truly magical," shared one participant. The zone offered a spectrum of immersive experiences: line-tracking car demonstrations that stirred enthusiasm, MR (Mixed Reality) games that fostered computational thinking, and novel trials with AR (Augmented Reality) smart glasses.

For Mr. Yang Bo, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science, the festival represents far more than a momentary spectacle. "The Jiangsu University Computer Culture Festival is not a transient showcase," he stated. "It is about integrating diverse resources to build a long-term mechanism. We aim to consolidate the ignited curiosity, inspired innovative thinking, empowered practical skills, and the fostered bonds between teachers, students, and alumni into a sustained, 'long-endurance' force. This force will continually nourish our students' academic and professional journeys."
