Curriculum Vitae

Xiang-Jun Shen, Ph.D., in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System, Science and Technology of China. He has been working in Jiangsu University from March 2008 and became an associate professor in 2010. And he studied in the university of north Carolina charlotte,2013-2014, as a senior visiting scholar.
At present, Dr. Shen is a member of IEEE and China Computer Federation, also he is a member of Multimedia professional committee of China. He served as a communication evaluation expert of National natural science foundation of China, and reviewing experts of such journals as Neurocomputing, Multimedia Tools and Applications, signal processing, etc.
Since 2000, he has been working on multimedia information processing and distributed computing technology research, such as large-scale image and video classification and recognition, multimodal social multimedia processing, distributed network architecture, huge amounts of social media computing technology, etc.

Teaching and research achievements

Dr. Shen got such honored prizes as the second prize in science and technology progress of Chinese machinery industry, third prize in science and technology progress of Jiangsu province, Third prize in science and technology progress of Zhenjiang city.
He is presiding over a project of the national natural science fund now. He finished a national youth natural scientists fund project in 2013. Also he participated 8 projects such as the national natural science foundation projects, natural science fund project of Jiangsu province, National small and medium-sized enterprises innovation project, industrial support projects of Jiangsu province.
Dr. Shen has published more than 30 academic papers, among them more than 20 articles indexed by SCI, EI. He has been approved 3 invention patents and more than 10 software copyrights.
He guided large number of innovation and scientific research projects for college students, including provincial college students' innovative projects.
