Professor Hu Qinghua of Tianjin University came to our institute to guide the application of NSFC in 2022

On February 20, 2022, Professor Hu Qinghua of Tianjin University was invited to the School of Computer Science to guide the application of NSFC in 2022. President Mao Qirong, Vice President Chen Jinfu of the School of Computer Science, and teachers planning to apply for NSFC in 2022 attended the meeting together.


At the meeting, six young teachers, including Dr. Wu Yan, reported from the aspects of abstract, project basis, research content, key scientific issues, research plan and research basis. In combination with the project applications and reports of the six teachers, Professor Hu pointed out the shortcomings of their project applications one by one, including unclear paragraphs of the project applications, lack of time context information on the basis of project initiation, insufficient refinement of key scientific issues, and lack of specific annual plans, and gave suggestions and solutions to these problems.

Professor Hu's vivid and comprehensive explanations, exchanges and discussions have greatly inspired young teachers. This meeting not only answered the young teachers' doubts about the application of NSFC, but also helped young teachers to better define the direction of basic research and improve the quality of application forms. At the same time, it is also of great significance for the college to further deepen basic research.


Professor Hu Qinghua is the doctoral supervisor of Tianjin University and the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Vice President of the Tianjin Branch of the Chinese Computer Society, and Vice President of SIG Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery of the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence. Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, ACTA AUTOMATICA SINICA, Engergies. Now it is supported by key programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The research focuses on uncertainty modeling in big data, machine learning of multimodal data, and intelligent unmanned system. More than 200 peer reviewed papers have been published.
