CS school successfully held the first tutorial lecture in 2022 - "How to do research"

On May 22, the College of Computer Science held the first graduate tutor lecture in 2022 - "How to do research" in the 208 lecture hall. Professor Zhan Yongzhao gave the lecture. More than 160 2021 graduate students in the College of Computer Science listened to the lecture through online and offline methods.

First of all, Professor Zhan gave the main contents of this lecture to the point: doing research, firm political direction and abiding by academic ethics. These three points are the important tasks and basic qualities that our graduate students need to complete. Then Professor Zhan introduced the question of what is research, explained the three levels of research, and passed on his research experience to our graduate students to better help them understand the purpose and methods of research. Professor Zhan also cited the classics and put forward three levels of learning. Then Professor Zhan explained and introduced a series of substantive issues such as how to do research, how to choose a good theme, how to obtain good innovation points, and how to obtain reading materials.

Finally, Professor Zhan made a serious introduction to the graduate students of our college on the issues of scientific ethics and academic misconduct, which sounded an alarm for the graduate students of our college. We should always remember not to touch the bottom line of morality and academia, and we should put an end to academic misconduct, be an upright graduate student, and conduct research with a correct attitude. Professor Zhan also proposed a beautiful vision of enjoying research life and happy learning for our graduate students.

The successful holding of the first phase of our 2022 tutor lecture will help our 2021 graduate students to improve their ideological understanding and not forget their original goals, laying a good foundation for their future research work.
