The 2019-2020 academic year Opening Ceremony and Scholarship Awarding Ceremony of JSU was held in the Academic Auditorium at 9:00-11:00 am on October 27 (Sunday), 2019.

At the opening ceremony, Principal Yan xiaohong made a speech on behalf of the university to welcome the new students from all over the world and introduced the development of the university in recent years and the rapid progress in the education of overseas students in China last year. In his speech, Yan Xiaohong encouraged overseas students to devote themselves to professional study and scientific research, and at the same time, to study Chinese language and experience Chinese culture, so as to become an important force in promoting cooperation between China and foreign countries in economy, trade, science, technology and culture. Professor Wu Mengyun, secretary of the party committee of the university of finance and economics, made a speech on behalf of the overseas students' training unit and teachers, and told the overseas students the "JiangDa spirit" of "self-improvement, morality, practicality and true-seeking", hoping that they could study hard, live happily and grow up healthily in school. Preparatory students, undergraduates and graduate students from Mexico, Congo and bosnia and herzegovina spoke on behalf of the class of 2019, expressing their gratitude to the university and looking forward to their future study and life.
